I don’t want to sound like a broken record but if you aren’t using article marketing for generating traffic to your website or affiliate programs you’re missing out on a highly cost effective method of getting visitors to your site. It’s more important today, this very minute, because of the economic situation to utilize all of the free ways in which to promote. The others are of course organic search engine traffic and utilizing promotional signatures in your emails and forum posts to name two.

Organic search engine traffic is by far the best way but it requires patience because it can take months to get ranked in the first few pages of the SE results for your major keywords. Forum and email signatures are faster but don’t yield quite as much. Nevertheless you need to do all of them.

The best part of article marketing is you can do it yourself and your only limitation is how hard you want to work. There are some shortcuts, such as article submitters that do the more labor intensive tasks of submitting all of your details at each article directory, however there is a cost involved to buy them. However the trade off for the investment is well worth it as the cost to buying traffic through ads or opt-in email is much higher by comparison.

If you decide to use an article submitter get a good one. Your return on investment is substantial. Not only do you get traffic to your site you also get valuable back-links to your site which count prominently in the search engine ranking systems. A case in point, last year I submitted several of my articles through an article submitter and within four weeks I had thousands of back-links to my site. To be exact one of my articles had close to 40,000 back links! I was even surprised by the outcome. It was something totally unexpected.

So do yourself a favor and start writing articles.
