Social media is a term that is flying across the internet. This is actually a new way of building your network marketing business online. How do people utilize this new way of marketing?

First, let’s take the word, social. What does this word mean: to interact with others and to share and exchange ideas with others. There are so many social media sites: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, You Tube, Digg, and so many more. So, the concept of this is simple. Research these sites and find your favorites. Create an account with 2 or 3 sites and find people that have a similar interest as you and you ask them to be your friend. Facebook and Twitter are probably ones that you must join. Leaders in network marketing share any information that they feel would benefit others. When you share this knowledge, people will become attracted to you and will want to get to know you better. People find that they have more in common than just network marketing. This helps build trust. Most people prefer to do business with people that they trust.

People like to talk and pass along information. If I ate at a really good restaurant, I would tell my friends. The same rule applies here. If I create some information that people like and enjoy, they will tell their friends, this gets your name out into the community and your reputation builds in a positive light.

You want to promote YOURSELF, not your biz opp! The worst thing you could do is come off like a salesperson, pushing your product or opportunity. No one likes to be sold. This is such a big turn off and people will just flat out ignore you and what you have to say. This is just like calling a cold lead and asking them to join your business without even getting to know them first.

You want to communicate and interact with people so they eventually go to your profile page to get to know you better. They will eventually click on your website to see what you are offering. If this is something of interest to them, then they will become a lead. The best part is, is that this strategy is totally free and it works.
