Set-up Your Own Blog In 2010

While starting a money making blog may not be the easiest thing to do, it won’t be the hardest thing you’ve ever done either!

If just starting out, I would suggest getting your feet wet with a Blogger blog. They are free, very easy to set-up and run, and being owned by Google are easy to monetize as well.

The best way to get to blogging is with your own hosted blog from WordPress.org. The feeling is these hosted blogs get ”more respect” so to speak from the search engines, and I feel there is some truth to this. If you don’t want to part with about $10.00 a month for hosting (cheap!) than a Blogger blog where it’s at.

Regardless of which platform you decide to use, the best way to start (I think) is to choose a niche (the subject of your blog) that you have some interest in, or better yet are passionate about. This will make writing content (the hardest part for me) for your new blog much easier. Think about it, if you know your subject matter well you don’t have to do much research (if any), you will be able to just write, and that my friend will make your blogging sooo much easier!

From the start you should be figuring out just what you can sell you future visitors to your blog. Get into your their heads-what do they want and/or need? You job as an Internet Marketer is to supply exactly what it is that they want or need, and turn your little niche blog into a money sucking machine!

There are more than a few ways to make money online, but I feel running a successful blog to be one of the best. Why? Because it gets you writing a lot of content (which you need to get good at) and gets your name out there (as an expert in your niche hopefully!)

Choose a niche you have a passion for and your visitors will see this and those that share your passion will become regulars at your blog-part of your online community. Then you work within this community to build relationships, perhaps partnerships, or joint venture opportunities, or at least sell them that ”thing” they want and/or need.

Try to enjoy your blogging, (remember, it doesn’t have to always be about money!) Who knows, you might find you’ll want to start another blog, and another and, well this could be the start of something big!
