The Greatest Skill in MLM is Caring

I have worked with various opportunities for well over a decades and I have come to recognize that the greatest skill in MLM is most definitely “Caring”. The statement that I listen to the most when people are complaining within their work environments is “my boss couldn’t care less about me”. People are complaining that their boss, the management or their Upline doesn’t care about them because it is important for a person to be recognized.

How come people feel that way?

You’d think complaining or being upset about lack of money would be the main issue, right? But even in jobs where the pay is great you hear the same thing. Because people should “matter”. When you think that those around you could care less about you or your family situation it is not at all a great feeling.

People are Important

The simple truth is, people need to be recognized for their effort, their good work and they want to be heard when they’re asking for help. This is even more so in MLM. Remember, in network marketing, you are not paying your distributors, or those below you, to do their job. You are actually asking them to put up money and in exchange you are promising them that you will teach them, give them you blue print, and show them what they need to learn every step of the way. Many times, once people have signed on to the program, based on these promises, it all disappears. The new guy on the block is left to figure it out on his own. Don’t ever let this happen to you.

Caring – A Strong Motivator

I’ve met some of the greatest leaders in our industry and they all have one specific skill in common – they care. They care about their team (Downline). They’re 110% devoted to the success of their team. They’re never too busy for their distributors, leading them every step of the way and mostly they are not making any claims they can’t keep. They are honest and caring leaders, which is probably what makes them great leaders. The reward for caring is loyalty and respect simply because caring is a two way street.

Invest in People

Just keep in mind this, in order to develop a strong MLM business “caring” is the most effective skill you need to have. Never stop learning and sharing your expertise with your team. Branding yourself is more about caring and sharing then it really is about recruiting. When you invest time and money in getting people in your organization you want to make sure they will remain forever. This is called longevity.

I'll Be Your Downline Builder...& More Lies My Upline Fed Me

I had a disturbing call recently with a prospect. I was speaking with a relative newbie the other day. I asked her what her struggles were with her Network Marketing business. She responded, as many do, that getting leads was a struggle.
